Ride some of the most scenic roads in France, sipping fine coffee in the morning, sampling amazing Pinot Noir wines in the afternoon, and savouring sumptuous regional food throughout the day. There’s no better way to see Burgundy up close than from the saddle of a bike. Our guided biking tour is just a perfect combination for a romantic escape or family vacation. Come and take a break in Burgundy to get away from it all.

Day 1
Arrival at your hotel in the historic centre classified World Heritage and check-in. After this, inspire and relax, your journey begin. You are free to explore the city. Dijon is a vibrant walkable city with a wealth of great shops, restaurants and bars and a really welcoming vibe to it. There are many museums, churches and traditional buildings to discover including the Palais des Ducs and Notre Dame’s Church. Presentation of the tour and final adjustments on the bicycles. Dinner free but we will provide suggestions. Overnight stay.

Day 2
Dijon to Nuits-Saint-Georges (30km). You will meet your bike guide in the morning and with him leave Dijon slowly behind you to ride untill the close countryside where begins « La Route des Grands Crus ». Arrive into the region of Gevrey-Chambertin, the largest appellation in Côte de Nuits, Pinot Noir country, and where you find some of France’s most famous wines including Vosne-Romanée, Fixin, Chambertin-clos-de-Bèze, Flagey-Echézeaux, Vougeot, Richebourg. Cycle on through the wine region of Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny and Vougeot with vineyards all along the way on either side offering breathtaking scenery and fresh air ! A visit and a wine tasting in a winery is programmed in the end of morning followed by a leisurely lunch in one of the many nice restaurants on the way. Dinner included and overnight stay in Nuits-Saint-Georges.

Day 3
Nuits-Saint-Georges – Beaune (30km). After your breakfast, to begin the morning you ride from the delightful little town of Nuit-Saint-Georges until the small city of Beaune, the capital of the Burgundy wine lands. There is plenty to see and do here. The famous Hospices de Beaune, a hospital built in the 15th century to look after Beaune’s poor and sick is also very interesting as is the Athénaeum, a bookshop, shop and wine cellar dedicated to the art of wine making. An extensive visit of one of the many Wine Cellars in the city, with an opportunity to taste the product, conclude the day. There is also a fabulous shop where you can sample and buy a huge variety of delicious mustards. Dinner is not included tonight but we will provide suggestions. Overnight stay in Beaune. Day 4
Beaune to Chassey-le-Camp (30km). This step is a special day. You will ride through some of Burgundy’s best-known winemaking areas including Pommard, Meursault, and Puligny-Montrachet. Further, you will make a stop in Montrachet, where is produced a white and dry wine which is considered the best of the world. Finally you will arrive in the provincial market town of Chagny where you spend the night nearby Chassey-le-Camp. Dinner is included in the accommodation. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5
Chassey-le-Camp to Sainte-Sabine and Chateauneuf-en-Auxois (40km) – A glorious and rolling 40km ride on backcountry roads to enjoy some very unique highlights of your journey near the quiet river and canal valley. This portion of the tour makes this Burgundy bicycle tour very special with stunning views and bucolic countryside of Ouche Valley. In the evening enjoy a dinner in Sainte-Sabine, overlooking the valley, with extraordinary view on Chateauneuf-en-Auxois perched on his promontary.

Day 6
Sainte-Sabine / Châteauneuf-en-Auxois to Dijon (50km). The final step and the easiest 50km you’ll ever ride but not the less interesting along Ouche Valley. Be sure ! You follow the bike path along the Burgundy canal all along the day up to Dijon. The path is flat to slightly downhill the entire way, with small and charming villages dotting the route. Many excellent stops on the way to enjoy the green countryside and the river Ouche. Take your time, you have time. Dinner is not included tonight but we will provide suggestions. Overnight stay Dijon.

Day 7
The tour officially ends after breakfast. Morning transfer to Paris or Lyon Airport. For other options to stay longer in Dijon and discover the rich heritage, please contact us.
